Cleaning Inside a Guard-Gated Community

Fairbanks Ranch is a guard-gated community next to Rancho Santa Fe, in the San Dieguito River Valley. Residents register guests and vendors ahead of time, so a smooth visit starts early:

  • Confirm the date and time with you when you book, so you can add us to the gate list.

  • Arrive in the window we agreed on and check in at the gate.

  • Follow community rules for vendor parking and conduct.

Fairbanks Ranch also has protective covenants that safeguard the community's look. Solar cleaning is maintenance only. We don't modify panels, racking, roofing, or landscaping.

We serve both the estate homes of Fairbanks Ranch and the homes around Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, with Fairbanks Village Plaza in between. The country club grounds hosted the equestrian endurance event of the 1984 Olympics, and horse trails and open land are still part of life here, which means fine dust on nearby panels. Share your address when you book and we'll confirm the gate check-in for your street.

The River Valley and Your Panels

Because Fairbanks Ranch sits in a valley a short distance from the coast, panels here face a mix of coastal and inland conditions:

  • Morning moisture. Marine air can settle into the valley. Dew grabs airborne dust, then the afternoon sun dries it into a thin film on the glass.

  • Oaks, eucalyptus, and landscaping. Mature trees and lush grounds drop leaves, pollen, and residue on nearby roofs.

  • Equestrian activity. The community's equestrian center, arenas, and trails put fine dust into the air.

  • Fairways and open space. Golf course turf and river-corridor open space attract birds, and droppings shade the cells.

  • Dry spells and Santa Ana winds. Long dry periods let grime accumulate, and offshore winds can deliver dust or ash.

A light shower tends to leave muddy spots rather than clean glass.

Careful Access on Large Homes

Estate homes here often have tall rooflines and tile roofing, so we plan access first:

  • Look from the ground to locate each array and choose the safest approach.

  • Set and secure ladders on stable, level surfaces, protecting hardscape where we can.

  • Map a route across the tile so we step only where the roof can take it.

  • Use fall protection whenever the pitch or height requires it.

The Cleaning Itself

Panels are brushed by hand with soft bristles and rinsed with deionized, purified water. With the minerals filtered out, the water dries without spotting, so no soap or harsh chemicals are needed, and nothing runs off into your plants. Stuck-on droppings soak until they lift, and we never use a pressure washer on solar glass. A closing inspection lets us flag loose wiring, cracked glass, or debris caught beneath the array.

Training and Recognition

Our credentials focus on safety at height and around electrical equipment:

  • Austin Moyer, co-owner, is an ISCA Certified Solar Panel Cleaner (CSPC) and completed ISCA PV Fire Safety Training.

  • ISCA Company Accreditation is held by Nomadic Home Services.

  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training is part of our safety program.

  • PWNA contractor member: our training covers OSHA 1910 fall protection, roof access, ladders, and PPE, along with First Aid and DOT.

  • Safety award: Austin received the ISCA Jason Knight Safety Progress Award in Las Vegas at the Solar Panel Cleaning Convention, November 2025.

Fairbanks Ranch Solar Cleaning FAQ

Do I need to add you to the gate list?

Yes. Fairbanks Ranch is guard-gated, so please register us as a vendor for the day of the cleaning. We'll confirm the date and time with you in advance.

Does marine air make solar panels dirtier?

It can. Morning moisture helps dust cling to the glass, and when it dries it leaves a film that a light rain won't wash away.

Can you clean solar panels on a two-story or tile roof?

Yes. We secure our ladders, plan a safe route across the roof, and use fall protection when the height or pitch calls for it.

Will your cleaning products harm my landscaping?

We don't use cleaning products on panels. We clean with soft brushes and deionized, purified water only, with no soaps or harsh chemicals.

What days are you available?

We're open every day from 8 AM to 6 PM. Call (619) 333-6858 to set up a time.
