Bonsall Living and Solar Upkeep

Bonsall is an unincorporated community in North County, set among the hills and valleys along the San Luis Rey River and Highway 76. It sits between Oceanside, Vista, and Fallbrook, and it's known for low-density estate lots, agriculture, golf courses, and equestrian facilities.

That rural setting is a big part of the appeal, but it also means panels here deal with:

  • Horse country dust. Arenas, paddocks, stable yards, and riding trails along the river kick up fine, light dust that settles on glass.

  • Open fields and hillsides. Fallow fields, native brush, and farmed land add soil and pollen, particularly in spring.

  • Coastal moisture. On mornings when damp ocean air reaches inland, dew helps dust stick to the panels, and the afternoon sun bakes it into a film.

  • Santa Ana winds. Dry fall and winter winds push grit, leaves, and sometimes ash across the community.

  • Birds near the river. The river corridor, trees, and pastures attract birds, and droppings create shaded patches on the cells.

We serve all of Bonsall, from estate lots along Camino Del Rey and West Lilac Road to the homes and ranches along Old River Road on the south side of the San Luis Rey River. Properties near the San Luis Rey Downs training center and other horse facilities can see extra arena dust on their panels, so we check every array on the property, not just the one on the house.

Ground Mounts, Stables, and Hillside Homes

On a larger lot, solar can end up almost anywhere. Ground-mount arrays are common on properties with room to spare, and panels on stables or detached garages often sit closer to dusty activity than the house roof does. Hillside homes may come with steep drives and multi-level rooflines.

We start by finding every array on the property and noting its mounting, tilt, and surroundings. Ground mounts are washed from the ground. For roofs, we pick a secure ladder position on solid footing and use fall protection when the height or pitch warrants it.

How We Clean

Our method is the same gentle process on every array:

  • Soft brushes loosen dust, pollen, and film without scratching the glass.

  • Deionized, purified water rinses the grime away and dries without mineral spots, so soap and harsh chemicals aren't needed.

  • Bird droppings and caked mud are soaked until they release, never scraped off.

  • No pressure washers touch the panels.

  • A final look at each array lets us flag damage, debris underneath, or loose wiring.

Bonsall Solar Cleaning FAQ

Does horse arena dust affect solar panels?

Yes. Arena and paddock dust is fine and light, so it travels easily and settles on nearby panels. Arrays close to stables or riding areas may need cleaning more often.

Do you clean ground-mount solar arrays in Bonsall?

Yes. We clean ground-mount systems as well as panels on houses, stables, garages, and carports.

Can I just hose off my panels?

We don't recommend it. Tap water contains minerals that can leave spots as it dries, and spraying alone won't remove the sticky film that builds up. We use soft brushes with deionized, purified water instead.

Are your technicians trained for roof safety?

Yes. Our training includes OSHA 30-Hour General Industry and PWNA OSHA 1910 coursework on fall protection, roof access, ladders, and PPE. Co-owner Austin Moyer has also completed ISCA PV Fire Safety Training.

Do you serve Bonsall on weekends?

Yes. We're open every day, weekends included, from 8 AM to 6 PM. Call (619) 333-6858 to schedule.
